Eclipse glasses are available from chemists or in person at La Troïka restaurant, a partner of the event (whilst stocks last).
As a one-off, the Vallée Blanche cable car will be open to pedestrians in the evening, from 6.15 pm until 8.15 pm for the ascent, with the last descent at 9.15 pm.
IMPORTANT: Never look at the eclipse with the naked eye. Only use ISO 12312-2-certified eclipse glasses in good condition. Ordinary sunglasses do not protect your eyes. Never observe the eclipse through binoculars, a camera, a telescope or a smartphone without a suitable solar filter. Keep a close eye on children throughout the observation. If you do not have approved eclipse glasses, opt for indirect observation (projecting the image of the Sun or observing its shadow).
